Sonnet: The Beast Within The Man

The love one's parents show unto children, The latter can't reciprocate at all; The home of childhood years surely seems haven, And parental care always looks so tall. All looks so lovely when neighbors are loved; The world seems wonderful when love rules men; The charity some do get hearts so moved, And earth appears almost akin heaven. But not for long when dignity is hurt, And things turn awry, world appears like hell; As words of mouth become offense, curt, The beast within the man begins to tell. A wolf resides in human mind and heart, That shows itself in adverse times by art! Copyright by Dr John Celes 3-07-2014
