A Spark Of Light

A grain of hope.
Hope remains,
in the midst of all despair.
One smile alone,
still a smile
amid all bitterness.
Wish for a comforting
word alone
still it is comfort
in the midst of all sadness.
Desire for a helping
hand alone
It still remains a help
amid clenched fists.
A spark of light alone
remains light
in the midst of all darkness.
We still have time to hope - against all despair.
We still have time to smile - against all bitterness.
