Weberdescribed
modernity in terms
of a polytheism of
values, a terrain of
warring gods or
irreducible
subjective opinion,
likes and preferences.
Modernity can
generate
its own morality.
But moralities in the
pluralcannot
offer good reasons
to take its moral
theories seriously.
