Oh Nightingale, Nightingale
Would you sing me a song full of melody?
The poet asked.
‘Mellifluous’ do you mean?
The Nightingale asked
“Yes” said the poet with a smile.
“I have forgotten all my songs”
The Nightingale answered
Why? The poet asked.
“My heart is full of sorrow.
I cannot sing now
I have forgotten all my songs.
Would you forgive me my dear Poet? ”
said the nightingale in a voice full of sadness.
The poet was so sad
That he began to write songs
to bring the nightingale to sing in joy.
(Making others happy is our divine call. How many people did you make happy today?)
