and the testing effect.
The spacing effect
refers to the
research finding
that educational
encounters that
are spaced and
repeated over
spaced intervals
of time (spaced distribution)
result in more
efficient learning
and improved
retention, compared
to mass distribution
at a single point
in time (also known
as binge-and
-purge learning) .
