Night!
This one today be bright
For there be star-light
Of Choruses singing the sight
Of heavens immense in might
Of All and Ever
Nuit!
Celui-ci aujourd'hui soit brillant car
il y a la lumière des étoiles
des chœurs chantant
la vue des cieux immenses en puissance
de Tous et à Jamais.
And Wisdom shall be bright
With glass of wine in hand
Together with the bacchanalian band!
Red-haired Bacchus the Emperor of Kings
With flushed red face
Shall kingdoms distribute
Shall kings nominate.
Twist here
Turn there
The verses wriggle out from cement walls
From dyke-walls and fortress walls.
To cast the frowns from clouds
And sad heavens light with fires of joy
