A Blustery Summer's Day

The long billed corellas at the end of a blustery summer's day Are calling on the high trees in the twilight gray On an evening quite cool for the time of the year The soughing of the freshening wind in the tall trees i hear The flute of the magpie melodious and clear The bird that does sing every day of the year The one who does have an unmistakable song His music by the freshening winds carried along The windy cool weather from the warm days seems a pleasant thing A certain freshness to the air it does seem to bring This evening not one white or brown butterfly For to be seen dancing in the windy sky Under leaves from the wind they have hidden away In the twilight of a blustery summer's day.
