A Warm January Day

The day it is warm and sunny and dry White butterflies in their millions dancing in the blue sky Many of their tiny bodies lying on the roadway Victims of cars and trucks their lives have been shortened by at least a day Since going by entomoligists the life of a butterfly is not that long A few days at most they would not have it wrong A natural thing of beauty and an amazing sight Millions of them dancing in the warm sunlight Of Nature's ways so little i can claim to know And my wonder of her only does seem to grow The southern January though warm a beautiful time of year And most days the blue sky is sunny and clear And everywhere you look dancing white butterflies Such a beautiful sight to bedazzle the eyes.
