They write stirring ballads these doyens of the pen
Of warriors bold and of men among men
Of famous celebrities who are known far and wide
The people at the top of the social divide
We read poems and stories of young women in their physical prime
Renowned for their beauty legends of our time
Photos of them in newspapers and magazines every day
The World is their oyster of them one might say
Of presidents and royalty we always read of and of hear
They make the news headlines every day of the year
The majority of people of them wish to know about
That they do have it all there can be little doubt
The majority of the people their heroines and heroes create
Suppose they do need people to celebrate
They need people they can look up to and admire
In the Human World there are the admired and those they inspire
But you never do read of or hear of those who are doing it tough
The homeless and hungry who are sleeping rough
They are not seen as newsworthy in any sort of a way
It is a World for winners the Human World of today
