Beyond The Hill

Beyond the hill in a town far away Magpie is piping in the dawn of day On the quiet streets of the old country town In the gray dawn few cars pass up and down Beyond the hill in a quiet town park The distinctive song of the magpie lark On a high branch of an old blackwood tree In the gray dawning is calling pee wee. Beyond the hill in the town by the sea The streets deserted and all quiet as can be In the still of the gray dawn the huge surf waves roar As they crash on the rocks that protects the foreshore. Beyond the hill in the dawn cool and gray Magpie is piping for to greet the day The streets are quiet an hour before sunrise And the huge waves rumble where the silver gull cries.
