They do make their own enemies of this why pretend Of the farmers and gardeners they are not a friend During Summer they eat grass and growing vegetables every night and day Costly to crop and grass growers of them one might say In the paddocks and gardens the males singing one does hear In the ground the female lay their eggs in late Summer of the year In the sunshine quite pretty to look at in beauty they do not lack Black crickets they are known as since they are shiny black To say they have friends would be telling a lie In the cool and wet weather of Autumn they die But the next generation will hatch out is Spring The cycles of Nature is an amazing thing Though they only live a few months at the longest and die To say they have friends would be telling a lie.
