Boolara

The birds sing in the Parkland at Boolara the Gippsland Village some might call a Town And recent rains has brought green to the high paddocks those hills that in the Summer looked so brown And wattlebirds cackle on the acacias and deciduous leaves turn brown as they prepare to fall To Mother Earth the mum of Mother Nature the generous one who provides for us all. Boolara will never be a hive of commerce that's what the ageing gray haired bloke did say It's only over thirty K's from Morwell the nearest big Town not that far away He had spent most of his life around Boolara the peace and quiet of rural Gippsland he enjoy To him this place is one stop down from Heaven and he will live here till the day he die. From Mirboo north to Boolara the road winds downhill a narrow road with many a dangerous bend And on such roads speeding drivers ask for trouble for on such roads one on luck cannot depend And all around you there's such scenic beauty and the best words to describe it 'breath taking views' Still it is not a road you ought to drive on if with your mates you have been out on the booze The old bloke said the next stop down from Heaven and I for one with him don't disagree In Boolara in the scenic Gippsland highlands one don't smell pollution caused by industry And I am one who could live in Boolara for such places are now becoming rare Surrounded by old hills in the high country in such a place I could live free of care.
