He did say to me some of my lines doesn't rhyme
That the word rhyme itself never does rhyme with time
But had he read many of my verses he would have taken note
That I never have once said that I am a poet
Addicted to penning I do pen every day
Though few bother to read what I do have to say
But I will keep writing of that I won't lie
And I will be penning 'til the day I die
Even though writing to me is a hungry belly game
It has not brought me wealth and will not bring me fame
I never contemplate giving writing away
My penning addiction with me it will stay
'Til to the scythe of the reaper I eventually will fall
The one certain fate that does await us all.
