I Cannot

I cannot say i have been there and done that Though i did work on pipeline crews in Ballarat And i worked on travel towers trimming tall trees In all sorts of weather of varying degrees Quite hard physical work that did not pay that well Any stories of a materially successful life i do not have to tell Males who have worked in physically demanding jobs age quickly beyond their lives prime One can say that they look old long before their time Since from by the northern hills i traveled far south I have traveled a bit and by life has been knocked about But i try to make the most of every day And treat all others in a fair way And try to do some good on my side of the town And in word or in deed never put anyone down.
