I Cannot Understand

I cannot understand why the clergy bless the troops for war To fight for their governments in war zones afar To shoot at those who to them are strangers and wish on them ill Despite Moses fifth commandment which states thou shalt not kill For to kill for their government interests or else for to die The meaning of what it takes tobe a good patriot is based on a lie Some young people's need to be heroes can be a self absorbing thing Though not all of them return home to hear others their praises sing And they will never again walk in a war street parade It is out of dead war heroes more young war heroes are made And i does find it rather puzzling nonetheless Why the clergy God's earthly disciples does bless The troops before they are bound for war in a far away land I personally find this quite hard to understand.
