If Ever Again

If ever again i should see Claraghatlea I'd like it for to be in the month of May With the old fields lush and green after recent Spring showers Looking quite beautiful in their wildborn flowers If ever again i should see Claramore By Clara far inland from Hibernia's shore It would have to be when the brown lark does fly Above the high fields for to sing in the sky If ever Inchaleigh i should see again I'd like it to be when in the watery drain The little dark tadpoles are wriggling about With tiny eyes, wriggly tail and a tiny mouth If ever again Annagloor i should see It will be when white blooms are cloaking the hawthorn tree And chaffinch with the pink breast is singing his best As the sun is going down in the sky towards the west The passing of time has left it's mark on me And if ever again Ballydaly i see I hope it will be when cattle are out on grass and the nesting birds sing And the old fields are wearing their flowers of the Spring.
