In Duhallow and Muskerry sport as usual is such a big thing
Of sporting greats stories are told and songs they do sing
Of gaelic footballers and hurlers and great road bowling women and men
As is said of the now it was often said of the then
Old timers in the pubs stories tell and yarns do spin
Of famous greyhound owners and their dogs and many a big track and coursing win
By Duhallow and Muskerry dogs of the long ago
That old stories do live from generation to generation does happen to be so
Like to most places to Duhallow and Muskerry time has brought change
But this in itself is not anything strange
But some things as they were as ever remain
And in north and mid Cork a fondness of talking of sports most people nowadays retain
In Duhallow and Muskerry many with sporting clubs games do play
Soccer, athletics, gaelic games, road bowling and greyhounds often the topics of the day
