Jimmy From Kallista

There is a world beyond the woods of Sherbrooke And this Australia is a vast country But you tell that to Jimmy from Kallista And he will say Kallista will do me. He's never been far distant from Kallista And the furthest he's been to is Ballarat One hundred and fifty kilometres from Kallista He's had no wish to drive further than that. You say to him Australia is a vast land And that there are many wondrous things to see And he will say the man who has seen the whole world Am I a lesser human being than he? . You ask him what he loves about Kallista He says I love the wild life and the trees The pleasant fluting of crimson rosellas And the tall mountain ash trees waving in the breeze. The distinct call of eastern yellow robin His song more like a ticking sort of sound And sturdy wombat nature's excavator Sleeps in his dark den deep beneath the ground. And in the twilight as the sky is darkening The wallabies from hiding venture out They nibble grasses in the forest clearings And loosen up their limbs and hop about. I always feel so happy in Kallista And to Sherbrooke wood mine's a familiar face And why should I wish to see all of Australia When I live in the most amazing place? . And why should I wish to see the wide brown outback Where they tell me there are hardly any trees No pleasant flutings of crimson rosellas No mountain ash trees waving in the breeze? . He's better known as Jimmy from Kallista And he's happy to live where the mountain ash grow tall And why should he wish to travel through Australia? When he lives in the finest land of all.
