As good as the best of the poets of today With words he is one who surely has a way The pathos, the humor his turn of phrase Joe Hughes is a writer well worthy of praise. Of the title of poet of him none can deny For Drogheda the literary flag he does fly He bridges the gap between modern and rhyme Joe Hughes he is surely a poet of our time.
