Linda

She has been diagnosed as one with manic depression Her moods swings from the very low to very high But Linda is a warm and loving person And she takes good care of her little boy. Her husband left her for another woman And those who know her said she couldn't cope But in adversity she has shown her courage And Linda has a strong belief in hope. Each morning she takes her four year old to day care Before she goes to her job as a nurse To say she has known tough times an understatement As life for her could not have been much worse. Each sunday morning if it is not raining She takes her child to play in park off Edgar Street She always greets me with a cheery hello And she is one I always like to meet. I've spoken to her at length this brave young woman And never even once heard her complain Her husband left her and their little baby But any bitterness towards him she doesn't retain. I see brave Linda as an inspiration And she is one I only can admire Her story not of fortune fame and riches But none the less a story to inspire. The masses may not see her as successful As she's not famous or a millionaire But the masses are not always the best judges And for others sufferings one thought they don't spare. But I see Linda as a successful person She is not one to wallow in despair At every post in life she is a winner Despite the crosses given her to bear. On sunday morning with her young son David In the small Parkway just off Edgar Street She always greets me with a cheery hello And she is one I always like to meet.
