For to win the war many must die and the dead forever dead Forget about making war mate you should make love instead For making love is very beautiful of love the poets do sing It is better by far than making war as war is a horrid thing, War only causes suffering and death and grief and fear And when you talk to me about war I do not wish to hear 'Tis not for to fight and die in war the mother raises her boy Love leads to peace and harmony in war there is no joy Why instil hatred of others into your little son And talk to him of warriors and battles fought and won Talk to him instead of compassion and on how to forgive And leave him to make up his own mind on how he ought to live And when you talk to me of making war to you I can only say Make love instead 'tis a joyful thing and give your thoughts of war away.
