Many May Say

We are what we think we are many may say Though this is often so it is not always the way How you see yourself and how you appear to me There can be quite a difference it would seem to be People of low self esteem to self criticism far more inclined Than the aspirational and self confident kind Who can become self centered and narcissistic in their way And their sort i happen to meet every day Your great job and new home and brand new motor car Does not tell me of the person that you really are Your compassion and kindness to others says more about you Than anything else ever could hope to do We are what we think we are is not always true As some people never give themselves the credit that should be their due.
