My Life To Me Alone

My life to me alone is of much value though perhaps some others do not feel the same as I As 'twould seem every human being is treated differently yes we are valued differently even when we die When so called powerful leaders die their passing make World news headlines as if we all should mourn for their loss Whilst many die are buried and forgotten and their neglected graves are cloaked by weeds and moss. 'Twas Edgar Allan Poe who said that every human life is priceless and with what he said I for one don't disagree At least in death one would think that we'd be seen as equal but our Earthly Judges see things differently Around the Globe millions have died of hunger and in unmarked graves their bones forever lay And they were good and kind and honest people but who wants to remember them today? Those who treat everybody fair and equal are those people who can walk proud and tall But when we value some people more than others that sort of thinking reflects on us all For such thinking leads to superior complexes and the old time worn phrase of us and they Is still often used to stir the pot of division even by people who are old and gray. My life to me alone is of great value despite what many others think and say Our so called human judges create this social ladder this is the sort of dangerous game they play A game that leads to war and to division and after war there's decades of mistrust Whilst those who treat everybody as equal are building a society of the just.
