She has been waltzing for more than a century of years Matilda has outlived all of the waltzing old dears Who have been waltzing since she was in her prime They have long become victims of the father of time Her old waltzing partner Banjo is long with the dead But she will waltz into the decades ahead She reminds me a little of ageless Danny Boy A very long life he too seems to enjoy He does remain young despite his lengthy life span The boy who has never grown into a man Danny though still called a boy his best days are long gone But Waltzing Matilda she is waltzing on And Banjo her old waltzing partner in his long rest lay But she has refused for to call it a day.
