She Does Deserve To Be Where Angels Dwell

She does deserve to be where angels dwell For life for her was surely Earthly Hell With life's forgotten she forever lay In pauper's ground her bones at rest today. Her sole life's possessions a plastic bag of clothes she knew of poverty In the Townpark one I did often see With a certain warmth in her toothy smile One who seemed unaffected by any sort of guile. 'Tis said of destiny 'tis beyond our control Age and homelessness on her did take it's toll I cannot say whether she was a mother or any man's wife Since I never talked to her about her life. She had no home to go to after dark Her body found on timber bench in the park By early morning jogger who was jogging by As the light of day did creep across the sky.
