Since Many Your Praises

Don't talk to me of who should or should not be seen as a writer or poet Or who should be worthy of artistic note Since one with another one cannot compare Though your gift with others be willing to share For if your creations to others you do not show Your worth as an artist or writer you never will know For recognition will be useless to you when you are dead You will not hear the kind things of you that are said, Is the reason you keep your creations hidden away Is you fear unkind things of you the callous might say A put down of your art or your writing to you a put down You do know a few callous know alls who do live in the town But that you keep your art or your writing hidden does seem a sad thing Since many your praises would feel happy to sing.
