To Me Just A Flag

Though many of their love of it openly brag The flag of a Nation to me just a flag And since reasons for war I have never excused Of being non patriotic I do stand accused Since Nationalism and Patriotism are things I can live without My worth as a person many who know of me do doubt, These wars over religion and wars over land Are things that I do find hard to understand, Since intolerance of difference to fear does give rise That war has not gone out of fashion is not a surprise Many so called wise elders war do glorify But then wisdom to age does not always apply That war leads to freedom and peace of course based on a lie Yet many young people for such beliefs do die.
