Where Old Clara Mountain

Where old Clara Mountain ever looks down On Duhallow and Sliabh Luachra and Millstreet Town Fond thoughts from my mind never that far away Of the place where i first looked on the lamp of day In the fields of the badger and silver backed crow Old River Blackwater as ever does flow On it's journey through North Cork to the Atlantic Shore The sound of it's babble will be forever more Old memories to me remain a source of joy Of where i grew to love Nature when i was a boy It was my love of adventure that brought me far south Of the waterways of the dipper and the shy and wily brown trout Old memories of what was in me does remain And in fancy i often climb Clara again.
