You will come to know who your friend is when you are in financial need For your friend at such a time is a true friend indeed Many you think are your friends in your side of the town May well not be so if you happen to be financially down You may have many acquaintances but your true friends are few And this is not saying anything that is new When you are financially down few of your troubles wish to hear And most of your friends from your life disappear It is then who your true friends are you come to realize And in any way this is not any surprise Your acquaintances are many and your true friends are rare In your time of need of this you will become aware On your time of need your friend will stick by you And this is only saying what is obviously true.
