Your Past Goes With You

You cannot escape it no matter what you do Wherever you go to your past goes with you For as long as your gift of memory you retain Your memories of what was in you does remain Even the memories you would rather forget You still do remember much to your regret The memories are with you of Seasons long gone And the clock on your life ever keeps ticking on Though in memory you walk on a far away street With friends of the past you will never more meet Life is a journey as some like to say That does end for everyone on some night or day But for as long as the gift of memory you retain Memories of the past until death with you bound to remain..
