What has happened to you?
your hourglass is waning
of its sand-grain of life;
so obvious your changes
I have frequent nightmares
of your deep set eyes
and skeletal protrusions.
Still you squeeze and push
on this glass egg-shell globe,
'til the crystal cracks and bursts,
and so go your brittle veins.
Cracks of caveat
while you obsess
in your smoked world
of hazed disfigurement,
staring in the mirror,
your daily exercise
on bruised, limp, twigged legs,
beginning to bristle, buckle
from this paradox
of 'lean and mean',
so fragile, small
as demitasse -
or a pancreas,
methodically dripping
from malignant nodes,
for the body, like buildings
all rot within
from weak construction.
And when you stand next to me
in that same full size mirror
if you only could see
what I clearly see
in that very same mirror,
when we stand, juxtaposed
we could shake our heads
and make it all better, together.
This crime nothing short
of a masachistic,
self-inflicted dose upon dose
upon self lethal dose -
of Suicide.
Anorexia Nervosa...
Should have called
*Jack Kavorkian
so your final hours
would be far less painful...
Should have let you run
your fist through your mirror,
seven years bad luck,
as if you might live that long;
just another pound or five
doesn't matter, just numb-ersy,
and once again you spin
the barrel of Russian Roulette,
except the bullets now
far out-number the blanks.
