As many ways as I can
My thoughts my poems
My life's story but I
Failed to compete my
Mother as she told me
In so many ways about
Her childhood, about
Her village, about
Her kith and kins, about
Her pleasure and pain,
About my own history.
I failed to understand
My mother, still I write.
