Reckless Words

That night the moon was suspended ominously low in the darkened sky, Tall trees, hedges and a pub crowded me in on every side, Stillness seeped into my mind, The stillness of not knowing, The silence of longing For answers of his abrupt disappearance To this wild and lush countryside always prepared to dance To the glow from the moon and the stars So far, so far, I met him to discover his lies Hidden beneath his now forgotten eyes, He had encouraged me to meet his landlady that was the lies, He was in a relationship, The storm hit me hard like a whip Beating my scarred heart He kicked out at me with his reckless words, I was left crying inside because of his twisted mentality, Going home with my dream crashing down like the waves of the sea, That night again the moon was suspended low in the darkened sky With the stars twinkling And the breadth of my passion broken and dwindling, The truth of reality, The truth of lies, The truth of betrayal and reckless words, He had tried to destroy me By destroying himself The moon hung low ominously in the darkened sky I had no more time for his lie, His reckless words taught me to live and not to die.
