I sit on the old park bench waiting for a friend a cold wind blows causing me to shiver Then the local boys stroll past in their group as if they were kings it’s just another reject says the tall gang leader looking down his thin nose at me before they all start laughing Their laughter angers me their comments cut me like a cruel knife then one of them raises a hand and brings the dagger down The pain in my chest explodes as the knife goes in I fall from the bench my blood staining the moss edged path The boys realize their crime and decide to run away I become alone once more as they leave me to die I can hardly see them now as a red mist falls over my eyes I try to rise but I lose consciousness An ambulance arrives at the scene guided by one of the gang he seems to care about me I guess he understands my position as he helps to calm me down The gang member helped me to live by assisting and calling for help I would have died if he hadn’t come back would you have cared and done what he did or would you have left me there to die
