705. Vesna's Ride

Under azure skies Vesna rides swiftly across the desert carrying an important message for her elven lord about the threat of an imminent attack and how it can best be avoided She is pursued by a horned giant silver Roc sent by the dark wizard Nukpana easily capable of consuming both horse and rider or carrying them back to its nest for later Huge talons reach out for the horse's tail and Vesna's long white and black hair as trails behind the poor brown mare is doing all she can to avoid being caught but cannot match the eagle for speed When they reach the city they can relax a little as the Roc will turn away or be brought down Vesna can then deliver the message to her lord she and her mount are finally able to rest afterwards in preparation for the next deadly ride
