I called Bud up..."let's go to lunch" Mary....hadn't been gone too long "Benicia seems....a very good spot" ...Something...in my soul...had known "Captain Blythers"...I said..."meet me there .....Around....about noon...will do It's my treat...we'll sat a spell.... Bring your appetite along....with you" .....The two us....we reminisced Mary lingering on both our minds.... Wounded souls.....together bound .....A mutual....pain.....entwined Telling me of the cross....he'd placed One could see it from miles around.... Mary's ashes...entrusted within its grace ...On that hill...of hallowed grounds From where we sat...Bud pointed out ...A distant building across the way "Mary and me...that's where we met 'Twas destiny....one.....might say."... * * "I called Bud up..."let's go to lunch" ...Mary....hadn't been gone...too long Benicia seemed....a very good spot ...Something...in my soul....had known JAMES B. EARLEY (Jim) Author's note: With appreciation, and a note of thanks to my dear friend, Julie Prince - who notified me last evening of Marshall "Bud" Tuttle's passing. To the family, my condolences please! Upon hearing the news, immediately I was compelled to write, composing this poignant remembrance of a treasured moment in time. - Thinking, in life, when seeing Mary Azevedo out and about, I'd often see Bud, her husband, as well. Now, together again, they'll be. And, to the both of them - bon voyage! Be well!
