Emily, It Doesn't Have To Be This Way

The sea is wide, the sky is clear, But love is tangled in our fear. The waves, they rise, and crash, and fall, Yet in our hearts, we feel so small. We search for others, hands outstretched, In seeking love, we feel distressed. But love, true love, must first arise From self, where our devotion lies. The clouds above, they drift and roam, Yet never lose their sense of home. So too must we, with open eyes, Find in ourselves what never dies. It doesn't have to be this way— With love and grace, we'll find our place. Respect ourselves, the heart will see, The sky and sea are always free. The waves they roll, the clouds they part, When love begins within the heart. And in that peace, so pure, so wide, We'll find our place, and never hide. Emily, A doll That's Squeezed Too much.
