The Power Of Second Chances

When first the day was lost to shadowed skies, And hope lay buried deep beneath the dust, I thought no dawn would rise to meet my eyes, Nor any love restore my heart to trust. But time, like gentle rain upon the earth, Revives what we believed had died in vain. A second chance is quiet in its birth, Yet holds the spark of joy after the pain. The hands once clenched in anger soft unclose, The soul, once wounded, dares to dream anew, And where the winter winds once whispered woes, The tender blooms of spring push gently through. For though the past is written, firm and true, A second chance can carve a deeper grace— For love, returning, makes the old paths new, And bids us live with light upon our face.
