To be guided by emotions,
expressing every word.
For poetry is healing,
to feel free just like a bird.
In a moment I'm transported,
to the depths of my own thoughts.
Never holding back my feelings,
of a life that can't be bought.
I've been hurt and often saddened,
by the trials that this life brings.
I've been lifted up to sudden heights,
so happy I could sing.
A poem is my one true friend,
that helps me on my way.
A constant source of healing,
through words I've longed to say.
