When Spring Arrives

As evening's slowly drawing in,
I hear the blackbird from the tree,
that's bare right now of fresh green leaves,
I long for springtime,
So pleasing to see.
The daffodils that gaily dance,
With long straight stems so soft and green,
Where once again each plant will rise,
To springtime sun,
I long for then.
The garden birds of many kinds,
Will rise from winter solace homes,
When once again, they'll build their nests,
From grass and twigs,
no more alone.
For they will find their one true love,
To raise their little family,
Into the summer fledglings grow,
To enter this world, so wild and free.
