Sow Happy

The garden lay bare, awaiting colour and life
Seeds were sown, bushes and shrubs planted
Woven baskets of flowers were hung
Pots were filled with pansies and tulips
As time passed, daffodils sun bright, rose in the spring
Pretty pink roses blossomed on the archway, attractive to bees also
Sweet ripe blackberries could be picked by hand
A single claret red lily made its summer appearance,
Like an opera singer captivating it's audience
The Red Robin memory tree with its soft jewelled leaves,
Held raindrop tears in autumn
Ice white cobwebs delicately placed on the hedgerow during winter
Birds and butterflies came as did the seasons
But it will be spring again, the daffodils will be dancing
The garden will be awash with colour
No longer bare
