The Pretty White Cottage

Earlier this year I was asked to imagine Something that will make me happy So I thought of the usual things I like Nice hot bubble bath or a new bottle of perfume Then my mind started to drift.. It took me to a pretty little cottage painted white With a welcoming green door, but I didn't go in It had the most gorgeous garden you've ever seen Landscaped with rose bushes and honey suckle, a butterflies dream It backed onto a beach through a wooden gate Glowing sands could be seen for miles I was sat barefoot, my toes were playing in the warm sand I was watching my two boys while they talked and laughed at the waters edge I could see the sun shining on their precious faces They looked so happy, throwing stones into the sea An innocent game for those fine young men The sea was calm, small waves slowly trickled in and out The flaming sun bounced up off the water as if was dancing I felt happy and at peace The tears crept through my closed eyes I could hear the calming music in my ears, it couldn't soothe me I shouldn't of cried at such joy, that perfect scene But it was the realisation To make me happy, I had to move mountains I was stuck at the bottom and my strength had gone Over time I kept going back the beach in my mind And gradually I found some strength to make the change Everything I had known would now be different It almost broke me but I did move the mountain Now I can almost see clear into the distance This is my new beginning, I will be happy and at peace I want to find that cottage one day and take my boys there
