Calico

In southern California there is a town, On the side of a mountain, it can be found. It's an old mining town to be very sure, Where they used to mine silver, rich and pure. A little ghost town is all that remains, With A ghostly graveyard, with funny refrains. And you climb the mountain, and soon you'll be, In Calico proper, which I hope you see. There's mines in the mountain beckoning you in, And old western stores where you can begin, To take a nostalgic trip back in time, And walking around won't cost you a dime. Desert willows and old pepper trees, Line the town street, and sway in the breeze. Come down to Calico, and I know you'll agree, That high up on that mountain you'll feel so at ease. A more beautiful ghost town you'll never find, And you will be sad when you leave it behind. The graveyard alone is worth the trip, Head down to Calico, a town you can't skip. Thank you Diego and Mercedes, Elvira and I both fell in love with Calico. 8/3/10 Alton Texas
