Golden Memories

I have golden memories, That I treasure so. Like old San Gorgonio, Under new fallen snow. Walking around Big Bear, On the ice covered ground. With my eyes in awe, Of that quaint mountain town. So many memories, Floating round in my brain, Apple pies in Julian, And the lack of rain. Up high in the mountains, In the cold brisk air. Thanking the good lord, For bringing me there. Walking through the Mojave's. Arid lands, Watching the jacks, Burning up the sand. The coyotes howling, Up in the hills, Remembering how their voices, Used to give me a thrill. The skies so clear, The stars so bright, I'd gaze at the heavens, All through the night. I have golden memories, Of a Golden state, But I couldn't stay, It wasn't my fate. 5/16/11 Alton Texas
