Once when I was six, I ran outside. There was nothing, Around our two story house, Only bare fields, For miles around. One hundred feet, From the house, There was a shed. Four poles with a tin roof, Where the John Deare, Was parked. I ran to the tractor, And I climbed, Into the Iron seat. I looked down, And I saw a small, Black button. So I pushed it, And the engine, Tried to turn over. Then I heard a voice. 'Juanito' it said. Only...Juanito. I looked around, And I saw nothing at all. I was about to push, The button again, When louder the voice, Came again, 'Juanito, don't do that'. I looked up again. One hundred feet to the north, I could see the screen door, Of the kitchen. And inside, I could see, My mother. I continued to look around, There was nothing, And no one else around. Terror seized me, I jumped off, The John Deare, And ran for home. Crying I tried to explain, To my mother, What I had heard. And she said 'mijo', That was, Your Guardian Angel. Something very bad, Was going to happen to you. You needed him, And he came to you, Thats all. 10/19/10 Alton Texas
