I Ask For Little

I ask for little Or maybe I ask a lot. I ask for gentle sunrises, With golden rays, Filtering through sleepy, Tree branches, Awakening the Earth, To one more day. I ask for blue skies, That stretch forever, And a day. For fluffy white clouds, To fill the blue. For a southern wind, To blow them gently, On their way. I ask for a bright sun, To warm old bones, And to illumine my way. I ask for trees, Full of green to sit under, And listen to avian songs, When brother sol gets too hot. I ask for red and purple sunsets, With clouds streaming slowly by, Painting twilight in myriads of colors. I ask for the chirping of crickets, In the deadwood. And Whitewinged Doves, Cooing their goodnights. I ask for little, But maybe, I ask a lot. 5/18/14 Alton Texas
