</></>Part Last It started off as a joke, that gave people a chill. But now I've my reasons, and I actually feel, That it comes to my bed, that it's actually real. When night rolls around, and I feel a chill, I keep a sharp eye, on my window sill. Part The First It crawled through my window, And into my bed. Then stared at my eyes, and softly said, I don't know if you know it, but I think I am dead. And I looked in it's eyes, and they glimmered red. And then it curled up at my feet, And looked at my eyes. And it felt cold, but to my surprise, I heard it emit, some terrible sighs. That were carried through the window, up to the skies. All night it lay there, Curled up by my feet. Sighing and sobbing now and then. As if it's heart carried some terrible sin. That needed to be carried away in the wind. Part The Second With the advent of dawn, It left my bed. And sighing once more, out the window it fled, Leaving the rags in which it was clad. In the place it had curled up, at the foot of my bed. I still see it, now and then, When I am feeling sad. Climbing in through my window, and into my bed. And somehow my heart, always seems glad, At long last it learned, there was no need for dread.
