To Elvira

A face floats in my dreams at night, It lifts my spirits to great heights. The gentle contours of that face, Are such my memory, can't erase. Her olive skin as smooth as wine, which in my eyes makes her devine. The look in those great auburn eyes, Rench from my soul a thousand sighs. That face of beauty without compare, Breeds in my soul, a love so rare. A love that has endured the test of time, With gentle feelings so sublime. I see her face in the night sky, Or in the trees as I walk by. I hear her voice swept on the wind, I hear it in the gentle rain. The beauty of that Irish face, With great broun eyes, of the Spanish race, The lips that smile only for me, Would fetch a sailor from the sea. There is a face within my dreams, It's always been there, so it seems. I see it when I rise at dawn, I see it when the sun is gone. I'll love that face until I die. Or till Gabriel's trumpet call is nigh. A vision of heaven, dwells by my side, The love of my life, Elvira my bride. 5/6/03 Alton Texas
