Too Long Away

Too long I have been away, and all I wanted was to return, but now I'll never see the day, I'll see my home for which I mourn. The little house, on that quiet street, The southern breeze blowing so fair, The mocking birds singing so sweet, The life I lived without a care I left and I've been gone too long, Too much water has flowed away, Inside my heart is not that strong, And now I'll never see the day, Things have to change they always do, I'm not the man I used to be, I've gotten older and wiser too, Can't see the things i used to see. They say you can't go home again, Those are the words that make me moan, That is the truest old refrain, I am a man without a home. 4/22/10 29 palms ca.
