Words can be as good as gold,
Or make all love depart.
Words can make you smile,
Or they can make you frown.
They can linger for a while,
With their wonderful sweet sound.
Words can make you leave,
Without looking back.
They can cause you grief,
Or give you strength you lack.
Words can make you rise,
Or they can lay you low.
They can open up your eyes,
With a special glow.
Words you say and hear,
Can mean everything.
Be they muddled, or be they clear,
Be you peasant or be king.
